Our Joy

joy-1As Joy was going to work in the wee hours of the morning on September 11, 2008 , we lost her to a car and truck accident in the Prescott, AZ area. This has been the biggest loss of our lives! Joy was our only child and we were very close.

joy-2Joy was fun-loving and compassionate! Her passions were her family, fiancé and animals. She had loved animals ever since she was old enough to know what they were. She started really noticing them when she was about 2 yrs. old. Our neighbors had a salt water aquarium that she would sit in front of for hours. She was just mesmerized by the fish and marine life. As a child her goal was to become a biologist and live in the rain forest. She never made it to the rainforest, but she did work in a zoo for a few years.

Joy moved on to become a purchaser for Shamrock Foods in Phoenix, AZ and then at the time of her death, she was a purchaser for Big D Flooring also out of Phoenix, AZ.

She loved to read and could go through several books in a week….you see she knew speed reading! :0) Her hands were never idle either. She loved to craft and had taken up the hobby of beading, something I never thought I would want to do, and she made some awesome things!

Last year, for the one year anniversary of Joy’s death, we decided to make it a time of celebration and fun, so we loaded up my parents and went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. While there, we found this wonderful little shop with fused glass jewelry. We were so impressed with it that we decided to research it and find out how it was made. We took some classes and viola! Our business was born!

joy-3In honor of Joy, we would like to dedicate not only this page to her, but also our business. So, enjoy the pictures and keep us in your prayers as we move on with our lives. Thanks so much for stopping by!
